Days 1–5: weight order
Work the domains from heaviest to lightest, pairing each reading block with hands-on API work — the exam tests what your fingers remember.
Week 2 of the roadmap · the natural follow-on
CCDV-F is the exam closest to day-to-day development work: eight weighted domains, 25 objectives, and implementation facts you either know or you don't — exact parameter names, model trade-offs, and API-surface decisions. Here's the full breakdown and a seven-day path to a comfortable pass.

02 — What's on it
| Domain | Weight | ≈ Questions of 53 |
|---|---|---|
| Applications & Integration | 33.1% | ~18 |
| Model Selection & Optimization | 16.8% | ~9 |
| Agents & Workflows | 14.7% | ~8 |
| Prompt & Context Engineering | 11.0% | ~6 |
| Tools & MCPs | 10.6% | ~6 |
| Security & Safety | 8.1% | ~4 |
| Claude Code | 3.1% | ~2 |
| Eval, Testing & Debugging | 2.6% | ~1 |
Where to focus: Domain 1 (Applications & Integration) owns the Messages API surface — request/response anatomy, stop reasons, errors, rate limits, streaming, batches, and app-design decisions. Domains 1+2 together are half the exam: study in weight order.
03 — How to prepare
Work the domains from heaviest to lightest, pairing each reading block with hands-on API work — the exam tests what your fingers remember.
Take the 36-question quiz bank in exam mode, timed. With ~2 minutes per question on the real exam, pace is rarely the problem — precision is.
Re-run your misses and book once you're scoring 85%+ on the bank — comfortably above the ~72% bar.
04 — The study kit
A 47-page, diagram-rich guide mapped to the 25 objectives of the official exam blueprint, organized into its eight published weighted domains, with facts verified against Anthropic's documentation. Includes the full 7-day plan and a 36-question original quiz bank with complete answer explanations.
05 — FAQ
53 questions across eight weighted domains and 25 objectives: Applications & Integration (33.1%), Model Selection & Optimization (16.8%), Agents & Workflows (14.7%), Prompt & Context Engineering (11.0%), Tools & MCPs (10.6%), Security & Safety (8.1%), Claude Code (3.1%), and Eval, Testing & Debugging (2.6%). Domain 1 alone is a third of the exam.
It's implementation-focused — exact parameter names, model trade-offs, and API-surface decisions you either know or you don't. Taken after CCAR-F, it's a natural follow-on since much of the material overlaps. With 120 minutes for 53 questions and a ~72% bar, a prepared developer has ample time.
No — there's no prerequisite. But our suggested order puts CCAR-F first because its content echoes through CCDV-F, making the second exam noticeably easier.
The list price is $125 as of August 2026, delivered online via Pearson OnVUE and booked through the Anthropic Partner Academy. Partner discounts have applied at times — verify current pricing on the official program pages before booking.
06 — Next step
Week 3 of the roadmap is CCAR-P — the senior exam. It rewards the judgement you've accumulated across the first two.
