One running scenario
Our 7-day plan threads a single claims-assistant scenario through every day's hands-on work — you make design decisions and defend them, the way the exam asks you to.
Week 3 of the roadmap · rewards accumulated judgement
CCAR-P is the senior exam of the track. It tests architectural judgement, not API mechanics — nearly every question is "given these constraints, which pattern, trade-off, or control, and why." Here's the structure, the three question types, and how to build exam-ready judgement in a week.

Question types: standard multiple choice; multiple response ("select 2 of 5"); and scenario-matching with dropdowns. 02 — What's on it
| Domain | Objectives | What it asks |
|---|---|---|
| Solution Design & Architecture | 6 | Translating business problems into Claude-based solutions, pipeline design, the pattern taxonomy, multi-agent orchestration. |
| Models, Prompting & Context Eng. | 3 | Model selection and the prompting/context trade-offs that follow from it. |
| Integration | 4 | MCP and integration levers — how a Claude solution plugs into real systems. |
| Evaluation & Testing | 4 | Evals, triage, and knowing whether the system actually works. |
| Governance, Safety & Risk | 4 | Human-in-the-loop, GDPR-style constraints, risk controls — never decoration, they eliminate options. |
| Stakeholder Communication | 4 | ADRs, trade-off narratives, and defending decisions to non-architects. |
| Lifecycle Management | 3 | SLAs, operations, and evolving a deployed solution. |
No official weights: Anthropic hasn't published per-domain weights for CCAR-P, so treat every domain as fair game — objective counts are the best available proxy for coverage.
The single most reusable heuristic: from Anthropic's "Building Effective Agents" — start with the simplest thing that meets the requirement, and add workflow structure, then agency, only when simpler solutions demonstrably fall short. When a stated constraint (SLA, budget, regulation, team skill) is violated by an option, that option is wrong no matter how elegant.
03 — How to prepare
Our 7-day plan threads a single claims-assistant scenario through every day's hands-on work — you make design decisions and defend them, the way the exam asks you to.
Every exercise output goes into one running document. By Day 7 it doubles as your revision sheet — your own defended positions on every domain.
The 40-question quiz in exam mode tells you whether to book. Target 85%+ — the real bar is 720/1000, roughly 72%.
04 — The study kit
A 68-page, diagram-rich guide mapped to the seven domains and 28 objectives of the official exam blueprint, ending with a rapid-fire self-test, a glossary, and the decision tables most exam items reduce to. Includes the full 7-day plan and a 40-question original quiz bank with complete answer explanations.
05 — FAQ
63 questions across seven domains and 28 objectives: Solution Design & Architecture (6 objectives), Models, Prompting & Context Engineering (3), Integration (4), Evaluation & Testing (4), Governance, Safety & Risk (4), Stakeholder Communication (4), and Lifecycle Management (3). Anthropic hasn't published official per-domain weights, so treat every domain as fair game.
Three types: standard multiple choice, multiple response ("select 2 of 5"), and scenario-matching with dropdowns. There's no guessing penalty — never leave a blank.
CCAR-F tests recall — exact parameters, paths, and flags. CCAR-P tests architectural judgement: the published objectives frame nearly everything as "given these constraints, which pattern, trade-off, or control — and why." Governance is a first-class design input: a compliance constraint in a scenario is never decoration, it eliminates options.
06 — Next step
Week 4 of the roadmap is CCAO-F — the non-technical Associate exam. After three technical exams it works as a same-day cool-down.
